The Northside Grizzlies didn't let last week's cancelled game affect them, as they went on the road in Friday's 7A-Central opener and downed Bryant, 29-0.
Northside (2-1, 1-0) held an 8-0 lead at halftime after getting a touchdown on a short run from Robert Wilkerson. The Grizzlies then extended their lead to 11-0 early in the second half on a 27-yard field goal from Chuy Parga.
Moments later, Tre Norwood returned a punt 60 yards for a TD as the Grizzlies extended their advantage to 19-0. Midway through the final quarter, quarterback Max Frazier, after connecting on a long pass to Derrick Wise, ran it in from a yard out on third-and-goal with more than six minutes left, making it 26-0.
Parga capped the scoring late in the game with a 44-yard field goal.
The Grizzlies are on the road again next Friday, traveling to Little Rock Central.
