Bentonville 3, Northside 0

One day after the Lady Bears got a big opening-round win at state, they were unable to continue that momentum.

Northside’s season came to an end in Wednesday’s 6A quarterfinals at Cabot as the Lady Bears were swept by Bentonville, 25-18, 29-27, 25-16.

The Lady Bears (19-13-1) had a chance to even the match at 1-all as they took leads of 25-24 and 27-26, two different set points away. But Bentonville held off the Lady Bears and eventually pulled out the win to go up 2-0.

Bentonville then took a 9-4 lead in the third set before extended it to 14-7.

Northside senior Quineisha Tillery finished with eight kills, while fellow senior Nicole Medlin had four blocks. Another senior, Taylor Pate, recorded 17 digs for the Lady Bears.
