Northside’s soccer teams split a 7A-Central doubleheader Monday in Little Rock.

The Grizzlies improved to 2-1 in the conference by shutting out Little Rock Catholic, 3-0.

Northside got goals from Jarvin Nieto, Jose Paredes and Ricky Iturriaga.

In the girls game Monday, Northside nearly pulled off its second straight conference win, but were defeated, 2-1, at Mount St. Mary.

The Lady Bears (1-2 in 7A-Central) went up 1-0 on a goal from Katelyn Gilkey, but MSM scored two goals in the second half to win the game.

Northside will return home on Thursday to take on Conway, with the girls game starting at 5:15 p.m., followed by the boys at 7 p.m.
